Bookshelf by for .
Designed in 1970, the Kuramata Bookshelf is a double-faced bookcase with compartments of different sizes, reflecting the designers belief that the volume of space needed by each object must correspond to its dimensions. As such, the Kuramata can accommodate a wide range of objects and uses, making it an ideal storage solution.
With an asymmetric structure, the bookshelf has a sculptural element and can be used alone, as a continuous bookcase if joined with numerous modules, or to divide a space whilst allowing light and air to pass through.
