A bit of an odd piece from Helmut given its highly constructed leanings, this vest features a statement articulated 'Ninja' facemask with geometric bib cover placket below. Geometric, sculptural, and literal, it is very reminiscent of the Vexed Generation designs that were released around the same time. It also featured a bound punchout circle detailing that returned in AW03 across most of the 'aviator' style pieces. This vest was styled on the runway layered under longer coats or suit jackets, left open with the mask draped off to one side over the coats' lapels. The slight sheen of the polyester face fabric often complemented graphic satin bands constructed across the waist of the coats in a play of layered texture. Utilitarian and militaristic but still luxurious, this vest is finished with a substantial two-way MRS zipper and light, compressible padding for warmth. 

9/10 Condition, with no rips, stains or tears. Original Material composition tag was cut off but size tag and Made in Italy tag remain.
